After additional thought, it occurred to me that you can use the 10/10/12 system I posted above to easily complete collections. (I don't remember most cars and their respective plates, so I'm using letters, A, B, C...)
For example:
You have all 10 unique Standards and Mid Ranges, and the 12 Top Ranges. However, to complete one of your collections, you just need to get T20 A, but you have T20 B. By using the system, you can export just the one T20 B. Once you import, theoretically anyway, you will be guaranteed a T20 as you'll have the 10 Standard and Mid Ranges, and you'll only have 11/12 of the Top Ranges, with the T20 the only one missing. If you get T20 B or C again, you'll have to wait for the import cool down, then repeat until you get T20 A. Then you can (slowly) work on all of your collections like this if you so please.
The only downside to this system is if you've passed the 10/10/12 limit, so you'll have to export all of your repeat cars (in my case, I have still have triple Tursimos, Bestia, and Sabre Turbo Customs just thinking off the top of my head, as well as some doubles).
So, you know, cool.

Yah after you showed me that picture, I came to the new conclusion, that it's probably better to just get 10 standard range collection cars and 10 mid range collection cars and just sell all duplicates and top range cars, then if you end up with a collection, you can sell the collection, but the majority of the time you should be getting top range cars. which is probably what you just said but i can't be asked reading it

Interesting to stumble upon this thread, since I've been going through the same thought process you guys did, and came to the same conclusions I'd say keep all your mid and standard ranged cars in the warehouse, collection or not. Then go and source a top-end and sell it for an easy 80 K in approx 15-20 minutes. However, you should always try and collect the three car super collection (X80-MAKEBANK, T20-DEVIL, Osiris-SLEEK) and the two car classic gold collection (Z-Type-BIGMONEY, Roosevelt-OLDTIMER). In essence it will only save you 40-60 grand, but selling collections is also better time-wise, since you won't get as much countdown timer per car as if you'd sell them individually. This, plus the commission bonuses make it worth the while to source 1 or 2 other guys to help you sell these collections. This also goes for selling multiple 'non-collection' cars in a batch, the countdown timer won't be as long per car either.
