The simplest example: The two car collection of the OLDTIMER Roosevelt Valor and the BIGMONEY Z-Type has a bonus of 20k (2 car collection bonus, 35k for 3 cars, 50k for 4 cars), and this bonus goes to each person that completes a delivery. This means that if one person completes each delivery (this can be done by the other people not driving into the yellow circle and letting that person finish the deliveries, they will get a bonus for each car they 'deliver'
I'm not sure why people think that the collections are not worth it, but here is the math to prove that they are.
If you sell each of these top range cars via the specialist dealer you get 100k - 20k (modification cost) = 80k for the sale.
80k * 2 = 160k total for selling them both individually.
If you sell them as the collection you get the 80k + 80k as if you were selling them via the specialist dealer but there is no cost to pay for the modifications, and on top of that you get the additional 20k collection bonus.
Let's say you import each car with a 3k (6k total) repair cost. So your -6k after import. Then let's sell them both by themselves via specialist dealer.
So -6k (repair cost) + 100k - 20k (mods) + 100k - 20k (mods) = 154k net with both cars sold separate.
If you sold them via collection...
-6k (repair) + 80k + 80k + 20k (collection bonus) = 174k net. (11% more money)
This is just for this collection, the numbers get better! Here are the numbers for the other collections.
And remember, each person who completes the delivery gets the bonus, so it's possible for one person to make the bonus * 4 for each collection...
Of course there are downsides with selling cars via collections...
You can't sell them by yourself (Pancakein associates)
You can't put a spoiler on the cars (Pig Benusty handling)
Casual importers/exporters don't know when they have a collection unless they check the computer at every export or memorize license plates (#spreadsheetMasterRace)
It's just plain riskier to sell two to four cars at once instead of one.
Disregarding the downsides, if you acquire reliable associates, have a beautiful spreadsheet to tell you when you have a collection, and can handle not having a spoiler on your car, then you should always sell a collection car in it's respective collection, because it's just more logical that if you have the opportunity to make more money, then you should.
