Last week, Skyrim Special Edition just released, and a fair few of our members have the game, will be getting the game, or have just played plenty of Skyrim in general. So instead of flooding the shout box with Skyrim stuff (well, mostly myself anyway), I think it'd be ideal to have an organized discussion thread talking about the game itself, lore (if you're into that), modding, and whatever else you find Skyrim-related.
If anyone decides to talk about the game and it's story, it might be a good idea to put any potential spoilers in a spoiler tab. I'm sure most of us who've played the game for at least several hours (or thousand) have done most story quests for the vanilla game and DLC, however, I know some of us have yet to play any DLC, so they'll be heading into uncharted territory.
So I'll start the discussion I suppose:
Funnily enough, I actually don't have the Special Edition yet, but I'll be on it soon. Already got my characters planned (which in my opinion helps, trying to think of a character on the spot is hard now). I've played quite a few different character builds, from Sword & Board warrior, to the infamous stealth archer. My personal favorites are spellswords and the like. I've always enjoyed mixing melee and magic, especially since I don't particularly enjoy using bows all the time. For my first playthrough of the SE will be a vanilla run, using a Paladin. One-Handed and Restoration FTW!
However, my modded character playthrough (once I get my mods sorted, damn you load order!) is going to just be an augment version of a character I like playing - Deathknight Obviously inspired by the Deathknights from WoW, I always loved this character, I always play on Master, so the game is quite tough for the first 20 or so levels (and then some), but late game, this guy becomes and absolute tank and I love it. The Ebony Blade in particular is always a key element of this character - rapid attack speed and upwards absorb 30 health per hit (if you upgrade it) makes this thing deadly and makes me feel invincible! Since you can't upgrade the Blade via sharpening wheel (you can upgrade the absorb health enchant, use link to find out), you got to make sure to keep up to date with any forty two-handed enchants and Two-Handed perks - If I ever run against an enemy where my absorb health is useless (I don't think Dwarven Automatons are affected, nor can I absorb health from them), I usually have a back-up two-hander, typically a Dragonbone Greatsword, or probably now a modded weapon. Another thing about the character is my range of damage output - destruction magic, melee, and conjuration.
With this character being saved for a modded playthrough, I've found some mods that'll definitely make this a lot more fun (see my mod list here), and one armor mod in particular that I've found that seemingly was made for me (I wish ) is appropriately named Death Knight of Tamriel. The thing I like about the mod (and the rest of Lagrie's armor mods) is that they're fairly lore-friendly and not completely outlandish.
Anyway, that was a bit of rambling, so uhm... what does your character do?
I'll just tag some folks whom I know have the Special Edition, or just played a Pig Benus ton of Skyrim in general (or plan on getting the SE) - IG | Friday realCrumbleYbutt Cuck-Meister69 Ra1derz Dr1verz Major Copyright Frostmoar (because I can!) And whoever else plays?
